Picture Perfect Picnic

During this time of ‘social distancing,’ I decided that getting a picnic basket and blanket would be the best approach to find ways to hang out and feel like you’re eating out.

This was the first of many park picnic conquests. See below on my picnic must haves:

Picnic Basket: I spent hours researching the best picnic basket. There was one I adored, but it was like $300 so I tried to find one that was reasonable, but still cute. My verdict was Birch Lane’s 2 Person Picnic Basket. Keep a lookout though because they have good sales where you can get at least $20 off of the listed price!
Advantages: Durable, comes with many everything (ie, plates, napkins, cutlery, wine glasses, wine opener etc)., neutral color
Disadvantages: none so far

Blanket: I ended up getting the matching blanket to the basket also from Birch Lane. I absolutely love the leather straps! The size is perfect for 2-3 people and I love how the bottom is waterproof and easily wipeable.

Champagne: Definitely a must for a picnic! A rosé brut is my go-to, but on a hot and humid day, I’d pick a rosé wine, white wine or champagne for sure- leave the reds for cooler weather!

Food: We whipped up easy wraps using a protein wrap from Aldi and filled it with hummus, cucumbers, tomatoes, black olives, red onion, avocado and feta cheese! Boy, was it delicious! We wrapped it up in foil and placed it in a container in the basket and it was beyond delicious! For dessert, we took cool whip and strawberries!

Time of Day: It is super hot and muggy in Georgia in the middle of June. I would definitely recommend 6pm or later. We took a small fan and spray bottle with water in it for the little one and of course tons of water! Also, don’t forget the sunscreen and bug spray!

Outfit: The main reason for my post since it is for fashion Friday! We went with a blue and pink theme! Definitely fun to coordinate with the fam!
Top: Zara
Pants: Forever 21
Scarf: Kate Spade
Sunglasses: Tiffany & Co.
Hat: A little street stand in Seville, Spain!
Shoes: Toms

Due to Covid-19, we didn’t want to ask anyone to take our picture at the park because we just weren’t sure who would be comfortable enough to hold someone else’s phone. Better safe than sorry; however, I was sad to not get a picture of the 3 of us, but we resorted to just taking it of each other!

Can’t wait to try it again!
