It’s the small things in life…

I wanted to take a moment to be thankful for the little things in life that bring me joy on a daily basis since Thanksgiving just passed! Here are my 5 “happy moments” items for the week: I Believe in Manicures Opi Nailpolish: Opi launched a temporary Breakfast at Tiffany’s nailpolish holiday collection and of course I had to be the first to get the Robin’s egg blue color. Anything that is a tribute to Tiffany & Co. and Audrey Hepburn brings excitement to my heart. iPhone7: I had the iPhone5 for 3 years and finally upgraded to the 7- I love it. I was resistant because of the size,…

    Mouth-water Monday: Creamy Corn!

This Latin-Mexican grilled street corn is to die for- especially during the holidays! On top of that, it is healthy as well for a meal or a side dish! I first tried it at this amazing restaurant in Scottsdale, AZ called The Mission and decided I needed to make a healthier version of it! Serves: 4, Calories: ~200/serving Ingredients: 3 cans sweet corn or creamy corn 1/4 cup lite organic mayonnaise 1/4 cup sour cream 1/2 cup crumbled cojita cheese (feta can substitute) 1/2 tsp chili powder 1 tsp finely minced garlic 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro 1 lime or 2 tsp lime juice +/- chopped onion Directions: 1. Thankful Thanksgiving Thursday: PharmD + BCOP = RX!

I love Thanksgiving- see my post from last year for why I love it! This year’s Thanksgiving post will be focused on my profession and a new certification I achieved that I am so thankful for (BCOP)! Yes, of course I am thankful for health, family, friends etc., but everyone always talks about that- it is a given. This year- I wanted to be thankful for one of the best Thanksgiving presents an oncology pharmacist could want! Most people have absolutely no idea what I do- even my family and closest friends. I don’t ever talk about it because it’s too much to explain and most people don’t understand it. Yes,…

    Fashion Friday: Scarf It Down

I absolutely love scarves. They are my favorite accessory in the fall aside from my jacket. However, the standard knot that every gal does with her scarf just isn’t enough. Tired of the boring pretzel (displayed above)? There are so many ways to wear one; here are 5 new ways to be stylish this winter: 1. Let-It-Hang: Wrap it around your neck and leave it untied in the front. 2. One-Sided: Put a scarf over one shoulder for a pop of a color. 3. Double-Sided: Tie a knot around your neck and let one side over your front and the other over your back. 4. Round-About: Circle your scarf around…

    The Age of Dissonance

Kids these days… I mean these millennial’s- honestly, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this is not how it was done back in the day when I was growing up. I didn’t own my own cell phone until I was in college (shared one with my sister in high school), I had a set “internet” time everyday for 30 minutes so the phone line would not be tied up and I actually talked to my friends on the phones for hours- not texted or social media’d them or Whatsapp’d them all at once. I seriously wonder about social skills these days- even mine- it’s easier to text than pick…

    Workout Wednesday: BLAST OFF!

First and foremost, Confidence Gear: Top|Hoodie|Sports Bra|Shoes|Pants|Skinny Up|Slim Fit|Leggings|JC Hoodie|JC Pants BLAST is an amazing workout that I tried a few times a year ago and then randomly here and there after that. It is very similar to Orange Theory; however, I like the variance a little better and the atmosphere is very bright and upbeat versus the dim lights at OTF. The great thing about BLAST is that they are pushing you and you are doing a combination of cardio and strength for blocks at a time. What is it? BLAST has a great combination of cardio and strength for a 60 minute class. The instructor calls out guidelines…

    It’s sElection Day!

Okay, I know my blog’s primary focus is fashion, food, fitness and travel; however, I do have occasional “Sonia-ism” posts and I think today calls for one- it’s the first day in history where the most number of people are registered to vote. I’ve actually always been moderate- not fully a democrat or republican. I think I need a party of my own- maybe you should go for the underdog. I’m very curious who will take the lead- the first woman president or the first… wait, this is on the internet. No just kidding- to be honest, I don’t think you can go right either way. Okay okay just kidding-…

    Gentlementality

I am so ecstatic because today is the release of my husband’s blog (well, more of a website): Gentlementality. My hubby is the biggest men’s fashionista I know- maybe that’s why we get along so well! Most people watch movies on Netflix Friday nights- we are watching fashion documentaries and discussing who is the best creative director for fashion brands. While others are reading books for fun, we are reading Vogue, GQ and table fashion books. When he first told me he was starting a blog, I thought wow I have inspired him! But no, seriously- this is not a blog- it is a website of his culmination and research…
