Mouth-water Monday: Avocado, Egg and Toast- Oh my!

With all this candy going around for Halloween (Happy Halloween by the way) and Diwali food (Happy New Year by the way to those who celebrate), I thought I would write a very opposite post of unhealthiness. The most nutritious, delicious meal you could ever eat. Oh and the simplest to prepare. This is one of my favorite meals for either lunch or dinner. You can make it multiple ways- slice or spread the avocado. Serves: 1, Calories: ~210-450 (1-2 slices) Ingredients: 1-2 slices bread 1 Avocado 1-2 eggs Pinch of Salt Pepper Any type of sauce is optional Any type of cheese or garnishing is optional Directions: See picture.…

    Bahston!

Remember my post about Nantucket from a while back? Well as promised- here is my post on Boston that my sister and I went to with my Mom for her birthday! Which by the way- I absolutely LOVED Boston and ranked it as my #3 place to live in in the country… well only if I could live in Beacon Hill (above)- I wish! We stayed at the Westin Copley Place Hotel and walked around the square and library the first day and had dinner at this amazing Mexican place called Lolita Cocina (best tacos). Stephanie’s on Newbury St is delicious as well! We walked up and down Newbury street going…

    Kitchen-MAID Mixer!

I absolutely LOVE my Kitchenaid Mixer that my sister gave me as a house warming present a couple years ago. The fact that it is Tiffany Blue is just the cherry on top! No more kneading the dough with your bare hands or worrying about standing there with a handheld mixture while you could be prepping other things or worse… attempting to mix with your own hands and killing your biceps. The price is definitely a reason why many people don’t buy it. I find that it is actually very well worth it- great money spent. Here’s why: Saves time when you are in a time crunch. You can make…

    Fashion Friday: Athleisure!

Athleisure is the new ‘in’ thing this year. Combining your best with your relaxed and looking your fittest is definitely in style. I used to not like this ‘dressing down,’ but it has now become a new favorite of mine! Wearing sneakers with skirts and dresses (the right way) is totally acceptable. And wearing sneakers with suits is very ‘cool’ (again, the right way). Not to mention that fancy gym clothes are now meant to be worn outside of the gym and not meant to break a sweat in. Workout Wednesday: Workout at Work

First and foremost, Confidence Gear: Top|Hoodie|Sports Bra|Shoes|Pants|Skinny Up|Slim Fit|Leggings|JC Hoodie|JC Pants Did you know sitting all day can knock your lifespan down by up to 10 years? Unless you’re on your feet all day and moving around, you should definitely get some working out in. There are very simple ways to do this at the office, here are some suggestions that I do from time to time: A video for quick sitting exercises at work And my favorite rectangle filled with standing exercises: Make it a point to take 10-15 minutes each day at work to do some of these and see how you feel! Ready…set…go!

New York, I Love You, XOXO II

Remember my NYC post from last year? As I had mentioned back then, I’ve wanted to live in Manhattan in the UES (although after this trip, Greenwich Village is on the top of my list followed by SOHO) for years. Since we won’t be moving there, my hubby promised me a trip once a year! This year just worked out perfectly- our cousin was getting married in Nanuet and then we decided to extend our trip in the city since it was also our 2 year wedding anniversary. We did quite a bit in 2 whole days and walked around of course about 10 miles a day (another reason why I…

    Mouth-water Monday: I yam a sweet potato!

Autumn- crisp, clean and cool. It is my favorite season! Anyone who knows me know that I am a sucker for sweets and always wanting to eat dessert for dinner! One of my fall obsessions is eating baked sweet potatoes for dinner with some brown sugar and pecans! Sweet potatoes are very healthy- filled with tons of nutrients and the best part- they do not cause spikes in sugar! Serves: 2 for dinner, Calories: 200-400 per sweet potato (2 halves) Ingredients: 2 large sweet potatoes 1/2 packed light brown sugar 4 tbsps unsalted & softened butter or honey 1/2 cup pecans Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 375 2. Poke the…

    Happy Mean Girls Day!

Okay I know Monday’s are usually reserved for ‘Mouth-water Monday’s,’ but October 3rd happens to fall on a Monday this year and it is the only exception to the rule to write about. I am a die hard Mean Girls fan (if you couldn’t tell already- the above picture was displayed at our welcome dinner/garba wedding event since it fell on October 3rd) and here are my top 10 favorite Mean Girl’s quotes: 10.  9. 8. 7.  6.  5.  4.  3.  2.
