Fashion Friday: ManSOLEo Blahnik

manolo-blahnik-hangisi-pumpsManolo Blahnik heels became even more of a fashion icon when Carrie Bradshaw sported the little blue ones in the first Sex and the City movie. These shoes are extremely comfortable since Mr. Blahnik used boyhood women like Audrey Hepburn as an inspiration for comfort and style. They are made with a gorgeous satin fabric and many brides wear it as their ‘something blue.’ It comes in all sorts of colors as you can see above with varying heel heights ranging from 4.25 to 0.5 inches (flats as well). However, not every color can be found in every heel size. Although a great fashion icon for every girl to have, I am hesitant due to the satin material which overtime tends to get loose and starts to form humps like a carpet over the years. For my own wedding, I wanted to wear the Tiffany Blue version in a 1-2 inch heel and it didn’t exist so I got them custom made, but over time the material started to stretch. This makes me wonder…

Should a shoe as gorgeous as this not be worn & just displayed as something blue in any girls shoe cabinet?

Here are some great alternatives which still have the signature brooch:

Love Manolo Blahnik shoes!!! I lived around the corner from his Chelsea, London store in the late 80s early 90s. His sister used to run that store…she was one of the most elegant ladies I have every met. She influenced my style at that time!
Thanks for the reminder of some great memories!
