    NYE

It’s funny how the meaning of New Year’s Eve changes for everyone as we age. Most people I know either love it or hate it. I actually love it and always want to do something to celebrate. Here’s my view on how each age group celebrates NYE: As a Kid Balldrop, throwing fake confetti and not making it till midnight Teens House parties and dressing up 20’s Fancy hotel parties, trips for NYE or yacht parites 30’s Intimate get-together’s at a friends house playing games and discussing life, hanging with family or Netflix 40’s Staying at home with the kids (watching history repeat) 50’s Inviting over other couples for up-scale dinner parties 60’s and…

    Workout Wednesday: SOREangeTheory

Orangetheory is a 1 hour workout class, but they have their own gym. I joined Orangetheory back in March and continued it for 3 months until the end of May when I was trying to get back in shape for my sister’s wedding after gaining a few pounds after mine. (By the way, if you just want a workout to do, then skip all the way to the bottom of the post). The Theory They use a heart monitor (POD) to monitor the 5 interval training zones (grey, blue, green, orange and red). You’ll be doing a lot of high intensity interval training throughout the hour and the goal is…

    “S” by S

Christmas Day marked the 1 month anniversary of Little Blue Book, but I didn’t want to steal Christmas’s thunder! So, happy belated blogiversary to my blog! Up until now, many of my readers have asked me what direction my blog was going in. I actually don’t have just one thing that I focus on. I am a lifestyle blogger and post in 6 categories: Food (Mouth-water Monday’s) Fitness (Workout Wednesday’s) Fashion (Fashion Friday’s) Furnishings Fabulous Life of S.A.T. Flying Around the World I have started blogging about certain categories on certain days of the week as mentioned above, but I have no intention of just picking one category as of now since…

Mouth-water Monday: Peanut Butter Jelly Time

These healthy PB&J oatmeal cookies have been a hit with my husband, Jibin, ever since my sister, Sweeti, gave me the recipe over a year ago. They taste amazing- they’re extremely soft and chewy and only require 4 ingredients! They are great for a snack or even for breakfast. And the best part- 2 cookies are less than 100 calories and the oats and bananas are filled with fiber which keep you full for a long time! As a kid growing up, I never went to school without a PB&J in my lunch! Ingredients: 2 ripe bananas (You can try using just 1) 1 cup uncooked quick oats 2 tbsp chunky…

    Workout Wednesday: BARRE-fied

Barre is definitely a new fad and very popular in the fitness world. Barre incorporates small isometric movements for a total body workout that may look very simple, but are even more difficult than mindless running and require more effort than you can imagine- the sweat proves it. Ever wonder how every single ballerina is so toned and skinny? Barre incorporates exercises from ballerinas and yes you can look that fit too! There are a few different places which offer barre exercise classes, but the two that I have tried are classes at Pure Barre and Pink Barre (can be pricey, so I actually went through ClassPass– some cities have…

    Much ‘I Do’ About Nothing

“Directing your happily ever after…” Around the same time that I started my Little Blue Book blog, I also started a wedding consulting company called Behind the Scenes. Most brides dread wedding stress and find it extremely draining. I was not the norm when I got married a little over a year ago on October 4, 2014. I absolutely loved preparing for my wedding (probably due to my high-strung, type-A, super organized, plan-ahead personality) and I felt I was born to do it. Seriously, I had the wedding blues after it was all over because I missed all the hype leading up to it. I realized for people who may not have friends…

Mouth-water Monday: Stew Your Wild Oats

A few weeks ago, I had a post about overnight oats for the sweet tooth: Betty Crocker Must Pie! This prompted one of my readers to ask about savory oats for people who don’t really like sweets and I began searching and found some delicious recipes for dinner! I was astonished by how much I loved the savory version for dinner. They are super simple and quick to make- even my husband made it for me! Here’s why: Organic rolled or steel cut oats are perfect since you will be making them on the stove. Extremely tasty and filling for dinner from all of the fiber. Add a spoon of chili garlic…

    Fashion Friday: Lipstick Jungle

Every Friday will be Fashion Friday! I will be posting either an outfit, item or accessory which I own or want and where to buy it along with alternative options. Every girl has the one make-up item she always has to have to feel complete. For some it may be eyeliner, blush or mascara, but for me, it is lipstick. We all have our signature color(s), but there’s just something about red, plump lips that makes a woman truly shine. My signature colors are shades of berry and red- it is a tricky color because there are thousands of shades of red and it looks different on everyone. I actually always mix 3…
